Los Angeles (myFOXla.com) – Thousands came out for the fourth annual Taste of Soul Food and Music Festival on Crenshaw Boulevard on Saturday.

From the food to the music to the crowds… this was Taste of Soul’s biggest year ever.

Billed as Los Angeles’ largest street festival, Taste of Soul takes place on Crenshaw between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rodeo Boulevard and plays host to over 100,000 attendees from all over the Los Angeles area and beyond.

“This is really an event for the people,” Taste of Soul founder Danny Backwell, Sr. told FOX 11 News. “This is an opportunity for us to come out, enjoy our own community, socialize with each other, and do something positive in our community.”

Good Day LA’s Steve Edwards, Jillian Reynolds and Dorothy Lucey were among the folks who did just that.

“The turnout is terrific,” Steve said about the event. “We’ve had such a good time. Even the three of us have gotten along. It’s that good!”

Look for the photos that they took at the event here on myFOXla.com this week.

Inidra Milini Khan was born in Chicago and grew up in Los Angeles and New York City. The sultry young singer comes from a musical family, her mother is the legendary pop/soul icon Chaka Khan. Indira’s musical influence stems from performers of varied genres such as: Prince, Aretha Franklin, Minnie Riperton, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Sarah McLaughlin and Sheryl Crow. Indira began her professional music career at a young age. From the ages of fourteen to seventeen, she was the founding member of the Motown Records group Pretty in Pink. Indira was responsible for co-writing the majority of their material. After her stint with Pretty in Pink, she went on to record with Atlantic Records recording artist Miki Howard, Motown Records recording artist Johnny Gill and Island Records recording artist Shabba Ranks. Indira also appears on projects by Loud Records recording artist Yvette Michelle, Mercury Records recording artist Paula Abdul and Elektra Records recording artist Demien DeSandies. Indira strives to become a prolific songwriter, because writing is true to her heart. She also strives to develop her singing career. A benefit of Indira’s extensive travel with her mother is her perspective on how music is a powerful influence in the lives of all people. Though she considers her music mainly R&B, dont be surprised to hear some funk, rock and jazzy spicing up the tracks in her forthcoming release. As she continues to build her career, she is currently in the studio working on new material, collaborating with other writers and singers, performing locally and is preparing for a domestic and worldwide tour. Indira shies away from comparison to her Grammy winning mom, as she is an amazing artist on her own accord. Pulling out all the stops when it comes to her own unique style, she expresses her individual diva-tude with humility, grace and power!
